SBC ANNOUNCES NEW ADDITION TO ITS HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL AFFILIATE NETWORK PROGRAM

Business Affiliate Network to Enlist Businesses’ Online Marketing Support to promote and sell  SBC Services to Business Customers

SAN ANTONIO, Dec. 6, 2005 — AT&T companies today announced the introduction of the Business Affiliate Network, an innovative new program that will help open up opportunities for businesses and professional organizations to promote AT&T services to their business customers.  The Business Affiliate Network will be closely aligned with AT&T companies’ existing Customer Affiliate Network, which helps affiliates promote AT&T consumer products.

The Business network will serve as a channel for online advertising and marketing. It will help strengthen the relationship between website owners and the AT&T family of companies by allowing eligible affiliates to place a banner or text link on their site so that visitors can easily place orders for AT&T services.  Each time a visitor clicks on this link and makes a qualified purchase, the host website earns a commission.

The Affiliate Network is free to join, and AT&T makes it easy for website owners by asking that they use a tag generator, a program that creates the links to AT&T products from the affiliate website. Owners can simply copy and paste the code to their website.  

The Business network will target businesses and professional organizations by promoting SBC Yahoo! DSL Business Edition, an integrated high-speed Internet solution that includes customizable business content, security software, expanded storage and network capabilities. The existing Consumer Affiliate Network, introduced three years ago, operates similarly to the business network. Utilizing the network as a business-to-business-to-consumer vehicle, consumer affiliates target business clients whose customers and employeesmay be interested in AT&T Consumer products such as SBC Yahoo! DSL, SBC Yahoo! Dial, SBC Local Phone Service , SBC Long Distance and Telephone Equipment. The network has generated more than 39,000 DSL orders or about 12 percent of SBC’s online DSL sales to date in 2005.

“The new business network extends the success of our consumer network, providing an exciting value-add for local government, chamber of commerce, financial and medical customers that have a large number of business website users,” said Christy Kimball-Anderson, Director–National Retail, AT&T. “The SBC Yahoo! DSL Business Edition is just the beginning, as we hope to offer new business products as they become available.”

Janine Takos, managing director of At The Plaza, a California-based channel marketing agency and member of the Consumer Affiliate Network since its inception, welcomed the Business Affiliate Network, citing its expanded reach to business customers as a valued addition to AT&T’s marketing initiatives.
“I’ve been very successful in leveraging the consumer network,” she noted.  “It’s a great tool for communicating services to customers, while delivering commission incentives to affiliate members. It’s a win-win.”

AT&T has developed a relationship with e-tailer Broadband National to coordinate and maintain the Business Affiliate website. Broadband National will also assist with recruiting and screening affiliates.
